PROSTATE PROBLEMS

Conventional treatment methods versus natural approaches! An increasing number of individuals are turning to natural solutions instead of traditional ones like chemotherapy. Hormonal imbalances stemming from environmental toxins, particularly ‘xeno-estrogens,’ are believed to be significant contributors to prostate issues. There is a connection between progesterone and prostate problems through the effects of estrogen. Natural progesterone serves as a potent counteractive agent against these chemical threats.

Symptoms for prostate cancer are:

  • enlargement
  • small urethras
  • inflammation
  • urination more frequent
  • cell changes leading to cancer

Variations can be attributed to elevated levels of estrogen and dihydrotestosterone, along with a decrease in testosterone. An increase in fatty tissue in the breasts and a decrease in facial hair suggest that estrogen levels have surged. Elevated dihydrotestosterone levels have been associated with prostate enlargement and cancer.

Progesterone plays a crucial role in men's health – it’s not exclusively for women. The testes produce between 5 to 15 mg of this hormone on an ongoing basis. This hormone is subsequently converted into testosterone and other hormones, such as estrogen.

Some researchers suggest that the decline in progesterone levels associated with aging, combined with rising environmental estrogen exposure, contributes to these issues. Progesterone plays a protective role for men against excessive estrogen, particularly xeno-estrogens and dihydrotestosterone. A daily dose as low as 20mg can effectively normalize an enlarged prostate. Those diagnosed with prostate cancer have shown improvement with 100mg per day; however, the dosage may vary based on individual symptoms, and higher amounts may be necessary. Its use is becoming increasingly common due to its safety and absence of toxic side effects. Additionally, progesterone serves as a potent anti-inflammatory agent and can alleviate inflammation, though it may return if progesterone treatment is discontinued.

Men may also experience Estrogen Dominance symptoms - PLEASE read about this. We all suffer from it, male and female as there is over 100 estrogen mimics in our environment today - see here.

As always diet plays a big part but try to include the following:

  • Omega 3 – take 15 to 75ml a day of flax seed oil
  • Zinc
  • the herb saw palmetto
  • Anti-oxidants – especially vitamins A, C, E and selenium
  • Vitamin D is extremely important

NOTE: Dr. John R. Lee emphasizes that studies indicate an excess of progesterone in men may hinder sperm maturation, potentially functioning as a contraceptive. Given that both progesterone and testosterone contribute to bone density, progesterone can be beneficial for castrated men, a common treatment for prostate cancer. Click here.

The same applies to testosterone.  Please take note of the following:

Minimal changes were observed in self-reported sexual and aggressive behaviors throughout the study. A tendency for increased arousal and spontaneous erections emerged during testosterone administration; however, this did not achieve statistical significance. The frequency of sexual intercourse, masturbation, and kissing and fondling remained unchanged, nor did testosterone administration influence subjects' satisfaction in their relationships.
